Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has just “Hulk Smashed” any opportunity for War Machine or Falcon to get their own stand-alone films.
With the major successes of the Iron Man films, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Avengers, it would make sense that Marvel would want to do some stand-alone movies based on some of their more supporting characters. This is sadly not the case.
Many fans were speculating that after Captain America: Winter Solider, the films for War Machine and Falcon would be starting production before The Avengers 3 came out. According to moviepilot.com, Kevin Feige ended those rumors with a simple straightforward answer: “No.”
This is disappointing to hear, but at the same time it does make sense. Marvel Studios just wants to focus on the movies for phase three of the Avengers series right now. This new phase will contain the movies Ant Man, Black Panther, and Dr. Strange for the moment.
It is a shame that War Machine and Falcon will not be getting their own big screen films, but there’s still a chance they can end up in The Avengers 2. That speculation alone is better than nothing.
